CASTLE CREEK AFFORDABLE HOUSING

After a competitive RFP process, the Aspen Affordable Housing Partnership was selected to design and develop three affordable housing projects in Aspen, including the Castle Creek Project. Connect One Design led a public outreach campaign to ensure community support and executed final design and construction documentation for the project. The Castle Creek Affordable Housing Project is a complicated site due to its dramatic grade change; however, Connect One Design incorporated upper and lower level entries to provide ample access for residents. Influenced by the Bauhaus architecture style, each unit will have a large private courtyard, and the entire complex will share and enjoy elevated grassy planes integrated into the steep grade. An intensive design and coordination process has resulted in the maximum number of units on the site, while still providing a high level of livability for residents.
